RESOLUTION OF COF~IISSIONERS OF PORTSMOUTH REDEVELOPMENT AND HOUSING AUTHORITY APPROVING A GEixrERAL NEIGHBORHOOD REI%RgWAL PLAN WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of Title % of the Housing Act of 1949, as amended, the Portsmouth Redevelopment and Housing Authority (herein called the "Local Public Agency") has entered into a contract, designated Contract No. Va. R-71 (GN)(A) with the Federal Government pur- suant to which the Government has made available to the Local Public Agency financial assistance for the preparation of a general neighborhood renewal plan for the General Neighborhood Renewal Area designated as Southside in the City of Portsmouth, State of Virginia, herein called the "Locality"; and WHEREAS, there was presented to this meeting of the Commissioners of the Portsmouth Redevelopment and Housing Authority, herein called the "Governing Body", for its consideration and approval, a copy of a general neighborhood renewal plan for the General Neighborhood Renewal Area, dated May, 1972, which plan is entitled "Southside General Neighborhood Renewal Plan", and co~simts ef 17.,pmg~gnd 5 ~xh.ibits; and WHEREAS, the General Neighborhood Renewal Plan was reviewed and considered at length at said meeting: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY TtlE GOVERNING BODY, that the General Neighborhood Renewal Plan be, and is hereby~ approved in all respects; that it is determined to be adequate as an outline of the urban renewal acti- vities proposed for th~ Area involved, as a framework for the preparation of urban renewal plans, and to indicate generally to the extent feasible in pre- liminary planning, the land uses, population density, building coverage, prospective requirements for the rehabilitatio~of property, and any portions of the Area contemplated for clearance and redevelopment; and that the Execu-. tire Director be, and is hereby, directed to file the copy of the General .lfe~ighhorh~d ~~Renews~l~P~lan ~i~hthe ~m~in~es of ~tkis meet,ing.
