97 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING T~IE CITY [,tANAGER TO ACCEPT THE BID OF THE AMBASSADOR CLUB OF PORTSMOUTH TO PURC~?~_SE CERTAII~ CITY- O~ED PROPERTY (LONDON BOULEVARD LOTS) . ?K~EREAS, the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Vir- ginia, has determined that certain property~ hereinafter des- cribed, is surplus property and no longer required for City purposes; and W~REAS, the Council has, by its resolution of July 24, 1973, authorized the City Manager to advertise this pro- perty for sale upon certain terms and conditions; and WHEREAS, the City Manager has caused the Said property to be advertised in accordance with the said authorization; and WHEREAS, the Ambassador Club of Portsmouth has sub- mitted a bid in response to said advertisement; and WHEREAS, the Council finds, after due consideration, that the bid of the Ambassador Club of Portsmouth complies fully with the terms of the City's advertisement and that the · bid is the highest of all bids received and will permit the dis- position of the property on terms most favorable to the City~ NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, that the City Manager be, and he hereby is directed to accept the bid of the Ambassador Club of Portsmouth for the hereinafter described property. Ail those certain lots, pieces or parcels of land lying and being in the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, and situate on the north side of LOn- don Eoulevard between Peninsula Avenue and Wil- liamsburg Avenue (as it now or formerly existed) and designated as Parcels 25, 26 and 29 on Tax Plate 58 on file in the Office of the City As- sessor. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Manager is authorized to execute all documents and complete all transactions incident to the conveyance of this property, subject to the terms and condi- tions of the City's advertisement of this property. Adopted by the Council of the City cf Portsmouth, Vir- ginia, at a meeting held Nover~ber 13, 1973. Teste: City Clerk
