RESOLUTION APPROVIN~ AND AUTHORIZING T~HE EY~CUTION ~F A REVISED COOPERATION AGREE~ENT WITH THEIP©RTS~OUTH REDEVELOPF~NT A~ HOUSING AUTHORITY FOR THE PARK VIEW CONSERVATION AND REDEVELOP-- MENT PROJECT, VA. R-48. ~H~REAS, un~er the provisions of Title I of the HeusLng Act of 1949 as amended, the Secretary of Housing and Urban Develop- ment entered into a contract w~th the Portsmouth Redevelopment and ~ousing Authority on June 25, ~969, to provide financial assistance to the Authority for ~ndertaki~g urban renewal activities within the Park View Conservation Project, Va. R-48, as specified in the document entitled, "Conservation Plan for the Park View Conserva- tion Project, Va. R-48~" which has been approved by both the Authority and the City of Portsmouth;. and WHEREAS~ said ~JaeD~ment ~o. t requires a~justments in cer.~tain improvements PreviOusly proposed to be undertaken by the C~ty of Portsmouth in conjunction with said-Project as out- lined in the document entit!edf "Revision No. 1 to the Cooperation Agreement, Park View Conservation Project, Va. R-48," approved on January 9, 1973; and 5~{E~S, a revised Cooperation Agreement for the said prelect has been pre.Pared which a lusts the obligations of the City ~o coincide with said Amendment No. 1, which revisioh has been carefully reviewed at this me~in~; and WHEREAS, the Clty Council ~s cognizant e~ the conditions that are imposed in the under,akin? and c~rryin~ out of urban re- newal projects with Federal financial asslstance under Title I, in- cluding those prohibiting dis~rimLnation because of race, color, creed, or national origin. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth: !. That all and ~ingular terms of a certain agreement entitled ~Revi~ion No. 2 to the Cooperation Agreement for the Park View Conservation and RedevelQpment Project, Ua. R-48" between the Portsmouth Redevelopment and Housing Authority and the City of Portsmouth dated October 23, 1973, a copy of which is attached here- to, be and the same hereby are approved.
