A RESOLUTION REQUESTING Ti{AT THE STATE HIGHWAY DEPARTMENT ADOPT <br />TM WESTERNMOST ALTERNATIVE ROUTE FOR THE INTERSTATE 664 CROSS- <br />iNG OF ~3~4PTON ROADS o <br /> <br /> ~EREAS, the State Highway Department will consider <br />at a public hearing in March~ 1973~ a nu~er of alternative <br />routes for the ~nterstate 666 Crossing of H~pton Roads; and <br /> WHEREAS~ it is the judgment of the Council of the <br />City of Portsmouth, Vir~inia, that the socio-economic develop- <br />ment of the City of Portsmouth and the communities of the south- <br />ern area of Hampton Roads ~il! be best served by the adoption <br />of ~hat is kno%~ as the ~ester~ost alternative route for the <br />~nterstate 664 Crossing of Hampton Roa~s between Ne~ort News <br />and the Bowers ~ill-Belleville Co~ector in the City of Nanse- <br /> <br /> the <br /> NOW~ T~REFORE, Be it resolved by the Council of <br /> City of Portsmouth, Virginia, that it strongly ~rges that the <br /> State Higher'aY Department adopu th~ westernmost alternative <br /> route for the Interstate 66~ Crossing of Hampton Roads bet~een <br /> Ne~ort News and the Bowers Hi!!-Bel!eville Connector in the <br /> City of Nansemond~ such route as m~re accurately show~ on that <br /> p~at ~entitle~ ~Route ! .Segment% Combinations", as a~tacfne~ ~ere- <br /> to and made a part hereof. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Council of the City of <br /> Portsmouth, V~rg~n~, that a copy of this resolution be sent to <br /> ~he State High~ay Department and be presented at the afore- <br /> mentioned public hearing. <br /> Adopted by the Council of the City of Portsmouth~ Vir- <br /> ginia~ at a meeting held January 9, 1973. <br /> Teste: <br /> <br />City Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
