A RESOLUTION APPOINTING VIEWERS FOR CLOSING A PORTION OF AN ALLEY <br />LOCATED 112 FEET WEST OF THE INTERSECTION OF LECKIE STREET AND <br />PElqIN SULk AVENUE. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Mrs. J. R. Austint Mrs. C. C. Williams and <br />Mr. Frank B. Baker, Jr., have made application to vacate and <br />close the hereinafter described portion of a certain street, <br />and it appearing that notice of the application and request for <br />the appointment of viewers was duly posted on the bulletin board <br />of the Circuit Court of the City of Portsmouth and in two other <br />public places in said City, at least 10 days prior to August-27, <br />1974. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the <br />City of Portsmouth, Virginia, that Frank N. Bilisoly, R. C. <br />Dempsey, Louis J. Leitner, James L~ Choate and Joseph C. Barber, <br />be appointed viewers to view the hereinafter described portion <br />of such street and report to this Council in writing whether in <br />their opinion, any, and if any, what inconvenience would result <br />from vacating and closing the following: <br /> <br /> All that certain piece or parcel of land~ <br /> being a part of a 26 foot alley shown on the <br /> Plat of Harry L. Alexander~ which plat is Of <br /> record in the Clerk's Office of the Circuit <br /> Court of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, in <br /> Map Book 1~ page 33, and being bounded and des- <br /> cribed as followst to-wit: <br /> <br /> BEGINNING at a point 112 feet west ~f the <br />southwest intersection of Leckie Street (for- <br />merly Sale Street) and Peninsula Avenue (for- <br />merly Wilson A~enue), as measured along the <br />south line of Leckie Street, and from thence <br />running 'south along the wes~ line of Lots 48, <br />49 and 50 on said plat and the east line of <br />said 26 foot alley a distance of 120 feet to <br />a point; thence west and parallel with Leckie <br />Street a distance of 26 feet to a point; thence <br />north along the east line of Lots 82, 83 and <br />84 on said plat and the west line of said 26 <br />foot alley a distance of 120 feet to the south <br />line of Leckie Street where it intersects with <br />the west line of said 26 foot alley; thence <br />east along the south line of Leckie Street ex- <br />tended a distance of 26 feet to the POINT OF <br />BEGINNING. <br /> <br /> <br />
