A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE CiTY ~4ANAGER TO CO~JEY <br />CERTAIN SURPLUS PROPERTY TO THE VIRGINIA PORT AUTHORITY. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Portsmouth and the Virginia Port <br />Authority entered into a certain agreement known as the Port Uni- <br />fication Agreement dated March 30, 1971; and <br /> <br /> WHER~AS~ Section !0 of said agreement required the <br />Virginia Port Authority to make prooerty transfers in favor of <br />the City of Portsmouth-under conditions specified therein; and <br /> <br /> ~HEREAS~ the Virgznia Port Authority on September 27, <br />1973, conveyed a certain parcel of land to the City of Portsmouth <br />pursuant to the hereinabove mentioned ~greement; and <br /> <br /> ~HEREAS, a portion of the property conveyed on Septem- <br />ber 27, 1973, is no longer needed by the City and ~s surplus~ and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS~ such portion is required to be conveyed to <br />the Virginia Port Authority by said Section i0 of the hereinabove <br />mentioned agreement. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the <br />City of Portsmouth, Virginia, that the City Manager be, and he <br />hereby is authorized and directed to convey the following des- <br />cribed property to the Virginia Port Authority: <br /> <br />That certain tract, piece or parcel of land situ- <br />ate in the Pinners Point section of the City of <br />Portsmouth being more particularly bounded and <br />described as follows, to-wit: <br /> <br />Beginning at a point on the pierhead line of <br />the Western Branch of the Elizabeth River, said <br />point bearing North 50~19'54'' West a distance <br />of 700.85 feet along the pierhead line of the <br />Elizabeth River and South 88~54'50'' West a dis- <br />tance of 642.14 feet along the pierhead line <br />of the Western Branch of the E!izabeth River <br />from the intersection of the northwestern pro- <br />perry line of the Elizabeth River Tunnel Dis- <br />trict and the pierhead line of said Elizabeth <br />River; thence from said true point of begin- <br />ning South 06~44'33,, West a distance of 687.81 <br />feet to a point; thence North 83~!5'27" West a <br />distance of 275.~0 feet to a point, said point <br />being on the eastern boundary line of property <br /> <br /> <br />
