15 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY I,~NAGER TO ACCEPT THE BID OF <br />THE BILTMORE BAPTIST CHURCH TO PURC~LASE C-R~A~ CI~-O~,~n~ PRO- <br />PERTY (NORTH SIDE OF ELLIOTT AVENUE). <br /> <br /> --WI~REAS, the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Vir- <br />ginia, has determined that certain property, hereinafter des- <br />cribed, is surpius property and no longer required for City <br />purposes; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Council has authorized the City Manager <br />to advertise this property for sale upon certain terms and con- <br />ditions; and <br /> <br /> Wt~REAS, the City Manager has caused the said property <br />to be advertised in accordance with the said authorization; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Biltmore Baptist Church has submitted a <br />bid in response to said advertisement, such bid being the min- <br />imum bid stated and being the only bid received; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Council finds, after due consideration, <br />that the bid of the Biltmore Baptist Church complies fully with <br />the terms of the City's advertisement and will permit the dis- <br />position of the property on terms most favorable to the City. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the <br />City of Portsmouth, Virginia, that the City Manager be, and he <br />hereby is directed to accept the bid of the Bi!tmore Baptist <br />Church~for the hereinafter described property. <br /> <br /> Ail those certain lots, pieees or parcels of <br />land lying and being in the City of Portsmouth, <br />Virginia, and more fully described as follows: <br /> <br /> Beginning at a point on the North side of <br />Eiliott Avenue at the eastern property line of <br />the property of the Biltmore Baptist Church <br />and from said point of beginning running thence <br />in a northerly direction along the line of <br />Biltmore Baptist Church 400 feet, more or less, <br />to the Southern line of Lot 185 on Plat of High- <br />land Bittmore; thence running in an easterly <br />direction along the property line of Lot 185 a <br />distance of 1OO feet to a point; ~hence Southerly <br />parallel to the line of the property of Biltmore <br />Baptist Church 400 feet, more or less, to a <br />point on-the Northern side of Eiliott Avenue; <br />thence along the Northern side of Elliott Avenue <br />in a westerly direction 1OO feet, more or less, <br /> <br /> <br />
