A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO CONVEY TO VIRGINIA <br />PORT AUTHORITY CERTAIN CITY-OWNED PROPERTY IN EXCHANGE FOP. <br />CERTAIN PROPERTY OWNED BY VIRGINIA PORT AUTHORITY. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Portsmouth and the Virginia Port <br />Authority have from time to time transferred certain property <br />in favor of the City of Portsmouth and in favor of the Virginia <br />Port Authority; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, plans developed by Virginia Port Authority <br />necessitate alterations in the boundaries of properties now <br />held by Virginia Port Authority and properties now held by <br />the City of Portsmouth; and <br /> <br /> ?~EREAS, the alteration of the boundaries can most <br />feasibly be accomplished tbxough an exchange of parcels of <br />property of equal size and dimensions between the City of Ports- <br />mouth and the Virginia Port Authority; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Section 2.09[c) of the Charter of the City <br />of Portsmouth provides that City may convey property to the <br />Commonwealth of Virginia, or any political subdivision thereof, <br />without advertisement and without receiving bids; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Virginia Port Authority is a political <br />subdivision of the Commonwealth of Virginia. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the <br />City of Portsmouth, Virginia, that the City Manager be, and he <br />hereby is, authorized to convey the following described property <br />to the Virginia Port Authority: <br /> <br /> Ail that certain tract, piece or parcel of <br />land, situate in the Pinners Point Section of <br />the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, containing <br />0.0562 acres by survey made by Langley, McDonald <br />and Overman, consulting engineers, dated November <br />6, 1974, a plat of said survey being attached <br />hereto as Exhibit "A"~ that this property is <br />conveyed in gross and not by the acre, being <br />more particularly bounded and described as <br />follows to-wit: <br /> <br /> Beginning at the true point of beginning, <br />which point is described as follows:. <br /> <br /> <br />
