A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO AN <br />AGREEMENT WITH THE VIRGINIA DEPARTMENT OF HIGHWAYS AND TRANS- <br />PORTATION FOR CONSTRUCTION OF A 16" WATER MAIN IN T~E APPROACHES <br />OF THE PROPOSED WEST NORFOLK BRIDGE. <br /> <br /> ~5~EREAS, the Virginia Department of Highways and Trans- <br />portation will shortly bid the contract for the construction of <br />the West Norfolk Bridge; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, it would be very beneficial to the City to in- <br />clude in the construction plan of said bridge the installment <br />of a 16" water main in the approaches thereto; and <br /> <br /> W~RREAS, in order to provide for the construction of <br />said main, the Virginia Department of Highways and Transportation <br />requires that the City agree to pay bid price plus ten percent <br />for the cost of such additional construction. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City <br />of Portsmouth, Virginia that the City Manager is hereby authorized <br />to enter into an agreement with the Virginia Department of High- <br />ways and Transportation for construction of a 16" water main in <br />the approaches of the proposed West Norfolk Bridge. <br /> <br /> Adopted by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Vir- <br />ginia, at a meeting held March !1, 1975. <br /> <br />Teste: <br /> <br />City Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
