113 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION REQUESTING A DESIGN STUDY OF GEORGE WASHINGTON <br />HIGHYIAY AND TO INCLUDE CO~D74UTER BIKEWAYS. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Department of Highways and Trans- <br />portation has agreed to conduct a design study of George <br />Washington Highway between the Naval Shipyard main gate and <br />the corporate limits of Chesapeake; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS~ such design study will include commuter <br />bikeways; and <br /> <br /> ¥~IEREAS, the City will be required to pay Fifteen <br />(15%) percent of the cost of such study. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of <br />the City of Portsmouth, Virginza, that ~he Council endorses <br />the Department of Highways and Transportation conducting a <br />design survey of George Washington Highway between the Naval <br />Shipyard main gate and the corporate limits of Chesapeake and <br />to include in such study com~muter bikeways. <br /> <br /> Adopted by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, <br />Virginia, at a meeting held October 28, 1975. <br /> <br />Teste: <br /> <br />City Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
