4O A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY ~NAGER TO ADVERTISE ~D RECEIVE BIDS FOR CERTAIN CITY O~ED PROPERTY (20 FOOT PARCEL ADJOINING SEWAGE PUMP STATION ON GREE~7OOD DRIVE)~ WHEREAS, the City of Portsmouth currently owns a certain 20 foot parcel of land on the north side of Green- wood Drive adjacent to the sewage pump station at the inter- section of Greenwood Drive and Stratford Road; and WHEREAS, the parcel of property is more fully identified and described as follows: Ail that certain piece or parcel of land, situate, lying and being in the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, bounded and des- cribed as follows: Beginning at a point on the northern margain of Greenwood Drive, said point be- lng the point at which the line dividing the property is now or formerly owned by Fred Bowen an~ the property described herein owned by the City Of Portsmouth, Virginia, intersects the northern margin of Greenwood Drive; thence north 7°50~50.- west along the aforesaid line dividing the property of Bowen and the property of the City of Portsmouth, 75.O1 feet to a point; thence south 83o13' east, 20.00 feet to a point; thence south 7o50'50" east 75.O1 feet to a point on the north- ern margin of Greenwood Drive; thence south 89039' west 20.00 feet along the northern margin of Greenwood Drive to the point of beginning. ~ WHEREAS, said parcel is not being utilized in connection with the sewage pump station and the City of Portsmouth has no further need thereof and it is~ therefore, surplus property; and WHEREAS, the City Planning Commission has recommend- ed that this strip be declared surplus property and sold. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, that the City Manager be, and he hereby is, authorized to advertise and receive bids for the hereinabove described property on such terms and subject to such minimum bid restrictions as he may deem
