A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER~O CONVEY CITY-OWNED PROPERTY TO THE PORTSMOUTH REDEVELOPMENT AND HOUSING AUTHORITY. (PARK VIEW REDA~ELOPMENT PROJECT, BLOCK 26, PARCELS 1AAND 5). WHEREAS, the City of Portsmouth desires to convey to the Portsmouth Redevelopment and Housing Authority certain land which is hereinafter described; and WHEREAS, the said land is no longer needed by the City of Portsmouth and is hereby declared surplus; and WHEREAS, Portsmouth Redevelopment and Housing Authority desires this land to be incorporated into adjoining tracts of land already owned by said Authority; and WHEREAS, the City of Portsmouth will be compensated for this property by the payment of $1,540.00 for Parcel 1 and $2,150.00 for Parcel 2; and WHEREAS, Section 2.09(c) of the Charter of the City of Portsmouth provides that the City may convey property to the Commonwealth of Virginia or a political subdivision thereof, without advertisement and without receiving bids; and WHEREAS, the Portsmouth Redevelopmant and t~using Authority is a political subdivision of the Commonwealth of Virginia. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, that the City Manager be, and he here- by is, authorized to convey the following described property to Portsmouth Redevelopment and Housing Authority for the consider- ation stated herein: Parcel 1 Ail those certain pieces or parcels of land situate in the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, known, numbered and designated as Lots 36 and 37 as shown on the plat of Park View Terrace Company, recorded in the Clerk's Office of the Circuit Court of the City of Portsmouth, Vir- ginia, in Map Book 1, page 9; save and except- ing therefrom so much of said lots as lie with- in the right of way of Armstrong Street.
