Tfl%~J .~f43ERAL AND STATE A_ID FOR I~AS'I~ ~'i~i~ TREA~I~IENT, PIAI~NING, DESI~ <br />~ CONSTRLk.'A'AON. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Federal Water Pollution Control Act Ar~_n~ of 197~ <br />(P.L. 92-500) provides for planning and cc~struct~on' of waste water <br />~reatment. facilities; and <br /> <br /> ~I~EREAS, no funding is present!y availab!e <br />~mandated by said act; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Portsmouth is involved in the planning, design <br />and construction of the Pinners Point Treatment Plant mandated by sa~d <br />act. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Ports- <br />mouth, Virginia, that the Governor of Virginia and the representatives <br />frc~ Virginia to .the United States Cc~gress be urged to support efforts <br />to extend federal and state aid for waste water treatment planning, <br />design and construction. <br /> <br /> BE IT FURI~ER RESOLVED that the City Clerk be, and she here~y is~ <br />~rected to mail a certified copy of the foregoing resolutien to the <br />Governor of Virginia and members of the Virgznia delegation to the <br />United States Congress. <br /> <br /> Adopted by the council Of the City of Port~mouth, Virginia, at~a <br />meeting held June 14, 1977. <br /> <br />City Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
