A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO PURCHASE A CERTAIN PARCEL OF PROPERTY ON FIRST STRUT OWNED BY GEORGE T. McLEAN COMPANY, INC. WHEREAS, George T. McLean Company, Inc. hereinafter described property on First Street in Portsmouth, Virginia; and owns certain the City of WHEREAs, the City of Portsmouth desires to purchase said property in connection with the future development of the U.' S. Coast Guard Base and the closing of First Street; and WHEREAS, George T. McLean Company, Inc. has offered to sell said property to the City of Portsmouth for $6,890.00; and WHEREAs, the Council of the City of Portsmouth, after due consideration, has determined that the offer is favorable to the City. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, that the City Manager be, and he hereby is, authorized to purchase the hereinafter described pro- perty from George T. McLean Company, Inc. for the price of $6,890.00. · Ail that certain lot, piece or parcel of land, situate, lying and being in the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, bounded and des- cribed as follows: Beginning at a point on the West right of way of First Street, said point being North 24o34,45,, West 280.22 feet from the northwest intersection of First Street and Wythe street; thence continuing along the West right of way of First Street North 24°35'10" West 141.03 feet to the former South right of way of Bart Street; thence along the former South right of way of Bart Street South 87"10,20- West 14.17 feet to the East right of way of Crawford Street Ex- tended; thence along the East right of way of Crawford Street Extended South 03o34,00- East 117.24 feet to a point; thence South ~0°52'16'' East 66.38 feet to the Point of eg!nnlng. Said parcel contains 4,724.11 square feet.
