29 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION ALI~HOP~ZING ~ CITY MASI~GER TO CONVEY CI~f~ <br />PROPEllEr TO PORTSMf~JTH REDEVELOPMENT AND HOUSIL~ AU~HOR!~f (515 <br />R~LNDOLPH S~ 320 PIFTH STREET AND CORNER LINCOLN AND GORDON <br />STREETS) o <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Portsmouth desires to convey to Ports- <br />mouth Redevelclmnent and Housing Authority cem~ain parcels of <br />property which are hereinafter described; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the said properhy is no longer needed by the City <br />of Portsmouth and is hereby deelered to be surplus; and <br /> <br /> W~RE~S, the Portsmouth Redevelopment and Housing Authority <br />desires ~his land to be incorporated inte the Southside III Re- <br />development Project, CD-78; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Portsmouth will be cont~nsated for <br />this property by the payment of the following amounts: 515 <br />Randolph Street, $445.18, 320 Fifth Streets $2,147.00 and corner <br />of Lincoln and Gordon Streets, $11,700~00; ~a~d <br /> <br /> W-~, Section 2.09(c) of the Charter of the Cfty of <br />Portsmouth provides that the City may conv~!; preperhy to the <br />Commonwealth of Virginia or any political subdivision %hereof, <br />without advertis~vent and %rithout receiving bids; and <br /> <br /> H~REAS, the Portsmouth Redevel~t and Housing Authority <br />is a political subdivision of the Cu'LCLonweelth of Virginia. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City <br />of Portsmouth, Virginia, that the City Manager be, and he here- <br />by is, authorized to convey the foli~ing described property to <br />the Portsmouth Redevelopment and Housing Authority: <br /> <br />Parcel 1 - 515 Randolph Street <br /> <br /> Ail that certain lot, piece or parcel of land, situate~ <br />lying and being mn ~he City of Portsmouth, Virgimia, known <br />according to the present syste~m of street numbering of ~he <br />City of Portsmouth as 515 Randolph Street, bounded and de- <br />scribed as follow~: <br /> <br /> BEGINNING a% a point on the South side of Randolph Street <br />at the ~estern line of property n~ or fonmerty owned by Major <br />L. Powel!, s~ point being 102 feet, more or less, West of the <br />Southwest intersection of Randolph Street and Fifth Street; <br />thence West along the South side of- Randolph Street 30 feet, <br />more or less, to a point in the East line of property now or <br />formerly owned by Portsmouth Redevelopment and Housing Antho- <br />rity; thence South along the East line of said Portsmouth <br /> <br /> <br />
