15 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE BID OF DONALD A. GARRETT TO PURCHASE <br />CITY-O~'~ED PROPERTY ON PORTSMOUTH BOULEVARD~'AUTHORIZING THE <br />CITY ~NAGER TO CONVEY SAID PROPERTY. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, at a meeting held on February 7~ 1978~ the Council <br />of the City of Portsmouth authorized the City Manager to adver- <br />tise the sale of certain hereinafter described property at public <br />auction; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, said property was duly advertised in accordance <br />with Section 2.09(b) of the Charter of the City of Portsmouth, <br />Virginia~ 1973; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, public aucbion was conducted pursuant to said ad- <br />vertisement on February 15, 1978 in the Council Chamber, t High <br />Street, Portsmouth, Virginia; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Donald A. Garrett was the last and highest bidder <br />for the purchase of said property in the amount of $1,500.00. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City <br /> of Portsmouth, Virginia, that the proposal of Donald A. Garrett <br /> to purchase the hereinafter described property for the amount of <br /> $1,500.00 be, and the same hereby is, approved and accepted. <br /> <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Ports- <br /> mouth, Virginia, that the City Manager be, and he hereby is, <br /> authorized to convey the following described property to Donald <br /> A. Garrett; <br /> <br /> Ail that certain piece or parcel of land, situate, <br /> lying and being in the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, <br /> more particularly bounded and described as follows: <br /> <br /> Beginning at a point on the southern right of way <br /> of Portsmouth Boulevard, said point being south 77° <br /> 39'00" east 370.00' from the southeast intersection <br /> of Portsmouth Boulevard and Manor Road; thence from <br /> said point of beginning south 12°21'00" west 50.00' <br /> to a point; thence South 21009'00" east 370.80' to <br /> a point; thence north 68°51'00'' east ~?.75~ to a point; <br /> thence south 77°36'00 TM east 7.39' to a point; thence <br /> north 21°09'00~' west 399.16' to a point on the south- <br /> ern right of way of Portsmouth Boulevard; thence along <br /> the southern right of way of Portsmouth Boulevard north <br /> 77~39'00" west 31.55 feet to the Point of Beginning. <br /> <br /> <br />
