88 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION REQUESTING STATE LEGISLATIVE ASSISTANCE AND <br />STATE MATCHING FUNDS UNDER THE.URBAN PARKS AND RECREATION <br />RECOVERY PROGRAM. <br /> <br /> WtlEREAS, the Urban Parks And Recreation Recovery Program <br />passed by the U. S. Congress provides funds for rehabilitating ~ <br />existing indoor and eutdoor recreation facilities; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, funds from said Recovery Program may also be <br />used for innovative projects designed to-develop solution <br />to problems which have nationwide applicability; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, said Recovery program provides for a 70-30 <br />Federal-Local match; however, for every~'State dollar con- <br />tributed, the Federal government will match same up to <br />the limitation of eighty-five (85%) percent of all funds. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE. IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City <br />of Portsmouth, Virginia, that it requests State legislative <br />assistance and State matchfng funds under the Urban Parks and <br />Recreation Recovery Program for the purposes of rehabilitating <br />existing indoor and outdoor recreation facilities and to pro- <br />vide for a solution' tO problems havi~g nationwide applicability. <br /> <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that copies of this resolution be <br /> forwarded to Members of'the General AssembIy representing the <br /> City of Portsmouth. <br /> <br /> Adopted by the Council of the City of Portsmouth,' ViTginia, <br /> at a meeting held December t2~, 1978. <br /> <br />.....
