87 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION APPOINTING VIEWERS FOR CLOSING THE FOLLOWING: <br />A PORTION OF AN UNNAMED LANE BET~EN ELM AVENUE AND ARI~STRONG <br />STREETS. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Portsmouth Redevelopment And Housing Authority <br />has made application to vacate, close and discontinue the <br />hereinafter-described portion of a certain unnamed alley, <br />and it appearing that Notice of Application and request for <br />the appointment of viewers was duly posted November 29, 1978, <br />on the bulletin board of the General District Court, Civil <br />Division, of the City of Portsmouth, the bulletin board of <br />the Circuit Court of the City of Portsmoutht and the bulletin <br />board of City Hall of the City of Portsmouth. <br /> <br /> NOW~ THEkEFORE~ BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the <br />City of Portsmouth~ Virginia, that Frank No Bitiso!y, H. L. <br />Davis~ Simon P. Arrington, Ao N. Kendzick and Harrison Miller <br />be appointed viewers and Rev. J~ Re Witkerson be appointed <br />an alternate viewer in the event one of the preceding viewers <br />fail to participate, said viewers to view the hereinafter <br />described portion of such unnamed lane and to report to this <br />Council in writing whether in their opinion any, and if any, <br />what inconvenience would result in vacating and closing the <br />following: <br /> <br /> UNNAMED LANE <br /> <br /> All that certain parcel of land, lying <br />and being in the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, <br />and comprising that portion of an unnamed lane <br />between Elm Avenue and Armstrong Street, and <br />as more particularly described as follows, <br />to-wit: <br /> <br /> PARCEL A - Beginning at ~ point on the <br />west side of Elm Avenue three hundred thirty- <br />five and four tenths (335.4} feet southerly <br />from the southwest corner of Spratley Street <br />and Elm Avenue; thence west and parallel with <br />Spratley Street one hundred forty-five (145) <br />feet; thence south and parallel with Elm Ave- <br />nue eight and nine tenths (8.9) feet to the~ <br />southern line of lot lSO on the plan of the <br />Park View Land Company's purchase recorded in <br />the Clerk's Offiee of the Circuit Cour~ of the <br />City of Chesapeake, Virginia in Map Book 3 a% <br />pages 14 and 15; thence east along the said <br />southern line of lot 180 one hundred forty-five <br />and one tenth (145.1) feet to the west side <br /> <br /> <br />
