84 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION ADOPTING THE R~PORT OF THE SPECIAL LEGISLATIVE <br />COMMITTEE TO THE SOUTHEASTERN VIRGINIA P/mAAINING DISTRICT <br />COMMISSION DATED OCTOBER 25, 1978. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS~ for some months, the Special Legislative Com- <br />mittee of the Southeastern Virginia Planning District Com- <br />mission has evaluated a proposal for the 1979 Legislature; <br />and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, said Special Legislative Committee is of the <br />belief that a unified regional strategy will have a better <br />chance of success because of regional cooperation. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the <br />City of Portsmouth, Virginia~ that it adopts the report of <br />the Special Legislative Committee to the Southeastern Vir- <br />ginia Planning District Commission dated October 25F. 1978. <br /> <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this City favors categorical <br />grants rather than the State Legislative Directive of the <br />precise manner local money can be spent. <br /> <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution <br />be forwarded to the Southeastern Virginia Planning District <br />Commission, the Virginia ~unicipal League and the Hampton <br />Roads Area Wide Cooperation Committee° <br /> <br /> Adopted by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Vir- <br />ginia, at a meeting held November 7, 1978. <br /> <br />Teste: <br /> <br />City Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
