8O A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY F~NAGER TO ACCEPT THE BID OF CONSTRUCTION ASSOCIATES~ INC~ TO PURCHASE CERTAIN CITY-OWNED PROPERTY ON FREDERICK BOULEVARD; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO CONVEY SAID PROPERTY° WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, has determined that certain property, hereinafter described, is surplus property and no longer required for City purposes; and wHEREAS, the Council has, by Resolution of August 1978~ authorized the City Manager to advertise this property for sale upon certain terms and conditions; and WHEREAS, the City Manager has caused the said~propert~ to be advertised in accordance with said authorization; and ~ S WHEREAS, Construction Associate , Inc. has submitted a bid in response to said advertisement; and WHEREAS, the Council finds~ after due consideration, that the bid of Construction Associates, Inc. in the amount of $1,000.00 complies fully with the terms of the City's advertisement and that the bid is the highest of all bids received and will permit the disposition of the property on the terms most favorable to the City. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth~ Vlrglnl , that the City Manager be, and he hereby is, directed to accept the bid of Cons%ruction Associates, Ince for the hereinafter-described property. Ail that certain lot, piece or parcel of land, with the improvements thereon, sit- uate~ lying and being in the City of Ports- .mouth, Virginia~ bounded and descrlbe~ a follows: Beginning at a point on the northern boundary of Frederick Boulevard, said point being in the Southeasterly direction along the northern boundary of Frederick Boule- vard along the curve to the right having a radius of .1,004.93 feet a distance of 66.75 feet from the southeastern corner of Lot No. 189 as shown on the plat of North Truxton which plat is recorded in the Clerk's office of the Circuit Court of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, in Map Book 2, Page 37-40, inclusive, as the same touches the northern boundary of Frederick Boulevard;
