5O <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO CONVEY CERTAIN <br />PROPERTY TO PORTSMOUTH REDEVELOPMENT AND HOUSING AUTHORITY <br />(MOUNT HERMON REDEVELOPMENT PROJECT). <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Portsmouth owns certain real pro- <br />perty acquired in connection with the London Boulevard Im- <br />provement Project, which property is no longer required by <br />the City and is, therefore, declared surplus; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Portsmouth Redevelopment ~_nd Housing <br />Authority desires to acquire said property hereinafter-described, <br />to combine with adjacent property to develop a disposable <br />parcel of land in connection with the Mount Hermon Redevelopment <br />Project; and <br /> <br /> %~IEREAS, the City of Portsmouth will be compensated for <br />the sale of said property in the sum of One Hundred Twelve <br />($112.) DollarS~ and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, ~2~09(~c) of the Charter of the City of Portsmouth <br />provides that property may be conveyed to the Commonwealth of <br />Virginia or a political subdivision thereof without advertise- <br />ment or receipt of bids~ and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Portsmouth Redevelopment And Housing Authority <br />is a political subdivision of the Commonwealth of Virginia. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City <br />of PortsmouLh~ Virginia~ that the City Manager be, and he hereby <br />is~ authorized to convey the hereinafter-described reaI property <br />to the Portsmouth Redevelopment & Housing Authority for the sum <br />of One Hundred Twelve ($112.) Dollars: <br /> <br /> Ail that certain piece or parcel of land~ <br /> situate~ lying and being in the City of Ports- <br /> mouth, Virginia~ designated as "Residue Parcel" <br /> on that certain plat entitled "Plat Showing Land <br /> Owned By Edmond Sublet To Be ~cquired For Con- <br /> struction Of Route 58, Portsmouth, Virginia", <br /> dated December 14, 1966, attached hereto and made <br /> a part hereof. <br /> <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Manager be, and he <br />hereby is, authorized to execute such documents as may be <br />necessary to complete this transaction. <br /> <br /> Adopted by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, <br />at a meeting held June 23, 1981. <br /> <br />Teste: <br /> <br />City Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
