95 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE TIDEWATER TRANSPORTATION DISTRICT <br />CO~4ISSION TO AMEND THE TRANSIT SERVICE PROGRAM FOR PORTSMOUTH. <br /> <br /> WHEieIEAS, transportation costs have continued to increase <br />and it has become necessary to change service mn order to <br />keep the City's transit subsidy expenditure within the <br />current year's budgeted $360,000.; and <br /> <br /> WHEEE. AS, The Tidewater Transportation District Commission <br />held a public hearing in the Portsmouth City Council Chamber <br />on November 19~ 1981 on several proposed transit service <br />changes; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, The Tidewater Transportation Distric~ Co~mission <br />has reconml%ended a change of service on three (3) routes in <br />order to stay within the budgeted expenditure level; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, alternate transportation will be available to <br />all persons affected by the change mn service although it <br />may not be as convenient as currently provided~ and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS~ the dollars being spent on these routes can be <br />used more productively elsewhere in the system on routes <br />which serve more citizen, s at a lower cost per passenger° <br /> <br /> NOW~ THEREFORE~ BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the <br />City o~ Portsmouth~ Virgmnla, that The Tidewater Transportation <br />District Co,emission is authorized to amend t~e Transit <br />Service Program for Portsmouth in accordance with the recommended <br />plan. <br /> <br /> Adopted by the Council of the City of Portsmouth~ <br />Virginia, at a meeting held Decer~er 8, 1981~ <br /> <br />Teste: <br /> <br />City Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
