4O <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO CONVEY CITY <br />OWNED PROPERTY TO THE PORTSMOUTH PARKING AUTHORITY. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, %he City of Portsmouth has constructed-a <br />multi-story parking~facility on Crawford Parkway in con- <br />junctio~ With the Waterfront Development Plan of the <br />City; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Portsmouth Parking Authority has agreed <br />to opera~e~and maintai~ said facility and to pay to the <br />City of Portsmouth a s~ of not less than One Hundred Twenty- <br />Five Thousand Dollars ($125,000.) per year for a period of <br />forty (40} years, said sum to be derived from revenues from <br />operation of said facility ~nd from revenues of other parking <br />facilities under the operation and control of the Portsmouth <br />Parking Authority; an~ <br /> <br /> ~EREAS, Section 2.09 (c) of the Charter of the City <br />of Portsmouth, Virginia, provides that the City may convey <br />real property to the Commonwealth of Virginia or a political <br />subdivision thereof without advertisement and receipt of <br />bids; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Portsmouth Parking Authority is a political <br />subdivision of the Commonwealth of Virginia. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the <br />City of Portsmouth~ Virginia, that the City Manager be, and <br />he hereby is, authorized to convey the following described <br />City owned property to the Portsmouth Parking Authority, to-wit: <br /> <br /> All:that certain piece or parcel of land, <br /> wi~h ~e improvements thereon, situate, lying <br /> and being in the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, <br /> designated as Parcel A on that certain plat en- <br /> titled "Plat Showing Property To ~e Conveyed To <br /> City Of Portsmouth", dated May 13, 1982, prepared <br /> by the Engineering and Technical Services Depart- <br /> ment of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, attach- <br /> ed-hereto and recorded herewith, reference to which <br /> plat is made for a more particular description of <br /> said property.. <br /> <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Manager be, and he <br />hereby is, authorized to sign such deed, contract and other <br />documents as may be necessary to carry out the provisions <br />of this Resolution and in conp!iance with the terms and con- <br />di~ions hereinabove-men%ioned. <br /> <br /> Adopted by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, <br />at a meeting held May 25, 1982. <br /> <br />Teste: <br /> <br />City Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
