26 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO CONVEY CITY OWNED PROPERTY (813 AND 817 WASHINGTON STREET) TO PORTSMOUT~ REDEVELOPMENT AND HOUSING AUTHORITY. WHEREAS, the City of Portsmouth owns certain real property located at 813 and 817'Washington Street; and WHEREAS, the Portsmouth Redevelopment and Housing Authority desires to purchase said property to be con- solidated with other properties as disposition parcels in connection with the Downtown South Redevelopment Pro- ject; and WHEREAS, the City of Portsmouth has no further re- quirements for use of said property and it is, hereby, declared to be excess property; and WHEREAS, pursuant to §2.O9(c) of the Charter of the City of Portsmouth real property may be conveyed to the Commonwealth of Virginia or a politi6~l subdivision thereof without advertisement and receipt of bids; and WHEREAS, the Portsmouth Redevelopment and Housing Authority is a political subdivision of the Commonwealth of Virginia; and WHEREAS, the Portsmouth Redevelopment and Housing Authority has agreed to pay the sum of Three Thousand, Five Hundred Thirty Dollars ($3,530.) for the transfer of said property. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, that the City Manager be, and he hereby is, authorized to convey the hereinafter- described property to Portsmouth Redevelopment and Housing Authority, to-wit: Ail that certain lot, piece or parcel of land, with the buildings and improvements there- on, situate, lying and being in the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, being more particularly bounded and described as follows: Beginning at the northeast corner of South and Washington Streets; and from thence running east along South Street 50' to the line of the land now or formerly belonging to WilLiam Brooks; thence N 113';
