95 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO CONVEY REAL <br />PROPERTY TO PORTSMOUTH REDEVELOPMENT AND HOUSING AUTHOriTY <br />(722, 724 FOURTH STREET, A~ 413-415 FAYETTE STREET). <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Portsmouth owns certain hereinafter- <br />described real property which is no longer needed by ~he City <br />for its uses and purposes and is hereby declared to be excess <br />property; and <br /> <br /> ~EREAS, said property is located in the Southside III <br />Redevelopment Project area; and <br /> <br /> ~,~EREAS, Portsmouth Redevelopment and Housing Authority <br />has made a proposal to purchase said property for the assessed <br />value thereof in the sum of Two Thousand, Three Hundred Thirty <br />Dollars ($2,330.00); and <br /> <br /> WH~EREAS, the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, <br />deems that the sale of said property to Portsmouth Redevelop- <br />ment and Housing Authority for the purpose of consolidation <br />of property in the Southside III Redevelopment Project is in <br />the best inter~st of the City; and <br /> <br /> ?~EREAS, pursuant to Section 2.09(c) of the Charter of <br />the City of P6rtsmouth real property may be conveyed to the <br />Commonwealth of Virginia or a political subdivision thereof <br />without advertisement and receipt of bids; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Portsmouth Redevelopment and Housing Authority <br />is a political subdivision of the Commonwealth of Virginia. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the <br />City 'of Portsmouth, Virginia, that the City Manager be, and <br />he hereby is, authorized to convey the folt~owing ~described <br />real property to Portsmouth Redevelopz~ent and Housln, g ~ut or&fy <br />upon ~he receipt of the payment of the sum of Two Thousand, <br />Three Hundred ~nirty Dollars [$2,330.00) therefor, <br /> <br />PARCEL I <br /> <br /> Ail that certain lot, piece or parcel of <br />land, with the buildings and improvements <br />thereon, situate, lying and being in the City <br />of Portsmouth,~Virginia, being more particularly <br />bo~nded and described as follows: <br /> <br /> Beginning on the southside of Fayette <br />Street at a point 86 feet west from the south- <br />east intersection of Fayette Street and Fourth <br />Street; and from thence running westwkrdly <br />along Fayette ..~T. reet 34 feet; thence southward!y <br /> <br /> <br />
