Roentgen Associates <br />and W±li±am A. and Edith Copeland, have made application to <br />vacatE, close and d!scontlnue the hereinafter-described <br />portion ~f a certa±n street;, and it appea~ing that notice <br />of '~o~ - ~ ' s <br /> apptl .... -~. an~ request for ebe appointment of v~ewer <br />was duly advertised accord.ing to law. <br /> <br /> NOW~ THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the <br />C±ty of Portsmou~, Virginia, that A. N."Kendrick, Linen <br />Vann, C. H. Halrston, James H. Griffin and Jan~es L. Linehan <br />be appointed v±ewe~s, ~nd that J~es Moss and Clinton J. <br />Fortune be appointed alternate viewers in the event one of <br />the preceedin9 ~ie~rs fails to participate, said viewers <br />to view the hereinafter-described portion of such street, <br />and to report to this Coun~it in writing whether in their <br />opinion any, and if any, what inconvenience would result <br />in vacating and closing the follo~ing: <br /> <br /> Ail that certain 16 foot alley or strip <br />of land situate, lying and being in the City <br />of Portsmouth: Virginia, located to the rear <br />and south of Lots 1 through 17, both inclusive, <br />in. Block 14, and lying north of Lots 18 through <br />34~ bot[~ inc~usive, in Block 14, Plat of the <br />Perperty of the Ch~rchland Land Company, which <br />plat is recorded in the Clerk's Office of the <br />C~rcuit Court of the City of Chesapeake, Virginia, <br />in Map Book 18, page 8~. The said 16 foot strip <br />er alley extends from Tyre Neck Road easterly <br />for a distance of approximately 520 feet to the <br />west right-of-way line of an alley on the Sea- <br />board Coast Line Railroad property.
