75 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION APPOINTING VIEWERS FOR THE CLOSING OF A PORTION <br />OF COMMERCE STREET BETWEEN CHAUTAUQUA AVENUE AND VIRGINIA <br />AVENUE; AND PAPER ALLEYS, WHICH EXTEND FROM THE NORTH AND <br />SOUTH OF THAT PORTION OF COMmeRCE STREET. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Industrial Development Authority of the <br />City of Portsmouth has made application to vacate, close <br />and discontinue the. hereinafter-described portions of certain <br />streets and alleys;' and it appearing that Notice of Application <br />and Request for the Appointment of Viewers was duly advertised <br />according to law. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City <br />of Portsmouth, Virginia, that A. N. Kendrick, R.-E. Bruce Stuart, <br />J. R. Witkerson, Howard L. Davis, George N. Powers, Sr. be <br />appointed viewers, and that C. E.'Ellis and C. L. Knight be <br />appointed alternate viewers in the event one of the preceding <br /> fails to participate, said viewers to view the hereinafter- <br /> <br />viewers <br />described portion of such streets and alleys and to report to <br />this Council in writing whether in their' opinion any, and if <br />any, what inconvenience would result in the vacating and closing <br />of the following: <br /> <br /> PARCEL I - COMMERCE STREET <br /> <br /> Ail that portion of Commerce Street which lies <br />between the eastern right-of-way line of Chautauqua <br />Avenue and the western right-of-way line of Virginia <br /> <br />Avenue. ' <br /> PARCEL II - 10 FOOT ALLEYWAY <br /> <br /> Ail that certain portion of a 10 foot alleM- <br />way running south from the southern right-of-way <br />line of commerce Street between Chautauqua Avenue <br />and Virginia Avenue for a distance of 400 feet; <br />and all of that certain alleyway running north <br />from the northern rIght-of-way line of Commerce <br />Street between Chautauqua Avenue and Virginia <br />Avenue for a distance of 249 feet to the southern <br />terminus of Shea Court.
