68 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE BID OF JOHN W. JOHNSON TO PURCHASE <br />CERTAIN PROPERTY LOCATED IN THE DEEP CREEK BOROUGH IN THE CITY <br />OF CHESAPEAKE; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO CONVEY. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Council of ~he City of Portsmouth has re- <br />quested offers for the purchase of certain hereinafter-described <br />property-owned by 'the City of Portsmouth located in the City <br />of Chesapeake, Virginia; and ~ <br /> <br /> WM ,R~,AS, the highest offer to purchase said property was <br />made by John W. Johnson in the amount of Five Thousand, Four <br />Hundred Dollars ($5,400.); and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, s~id property is no longer needed by the City of <br />Portsmouth and is hereby declared to be excess property; and <br /> <br /> WPiF~RHAS, ~t is the opinion of this Council that it is in <br />the best interest of the City to dispose of said property by <br />sale to John W. Johnson. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE/ BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City <br />of Portsmouth, Virginia, that the City Council does hereby <br />accept the offer Of J~hn W. Johnson to put ~cnase certazn herein- <br />after-described prope~y owned by the City of Portsmouth <br />located in the-City of Chesapeake,'Virginia~ for the sum of <br />Five Thousand, Four Hundred Dollars ($5,400.). <br /> <br />Said property being more particularly described as follows: <br /> <br /> parcel of land located in <br /> the Deep Creek b~ough of the City of Chesapeake <br /> bound~d, anddesczibed as follows: . <br /> <br /> ~ Beginn~ing' at a point on the southern, bound- <br /> ary of ~he Norfolk and Western Railroad right- <br /> of-way said point being south 82~45' west 1208.05' <br /> from mile post number 11 on said railroad right- <br /> of-way; thence south 29050' west 927.98' along <br /> the boundary of the property now or formerly <br /> known as the Portsmouth ditch to a point; thence <br /> sout~ 60~ !0' east 375.77'to a point <br /> being the center line of Deep Creek Ru~, said <br /> point also being the western boundary of property <br /> now or formerly owned by Norfolk and Western Rail- <br /> road Company by deed recorded in Deed Book 368, <br />- - · page 412, in the Clerk's Office of the Circuit <br /> Court of the City of Chesapeake; thence in a <br /> northeasterly direction along the.center line <br /> <br /> <br />
