119 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY ~-~NAGER TO CONVEY REAL PRO~ <br />PERTY TO PORTSMOUTH REDEVELOPMENT AND HOUSING AUTHORITY (COLONY <br />THEATRE BUILDING). <br /> <br /> W~EREAS, the City owns certain hereinafter-described re~l <br />property known as the Colony Theatre Building; and <br /> <br /> ~HEREAS, said property is not required for p~blic purpose <br />and is, hereby, deemed to be excess property; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, said property is located in the Crawford Redevelop- <br />ment Plan for the Crawford Urban Renewal Project; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Portsmouth Redevelopment and Housing Authority <br />pursuant to said Urban Renewal Plan may market said property <br />for rehabilitation; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to ~2.09 Cc) of the Charter of the City <br />of Portsmouth, property may be conveyed to the Commonwealth of <br />~rg!nla or political subdivision thereof without advertisement <br />or receipt of bids; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Portsmouth Redevelopment and Housing Authority is <br />a political subdivision of the Commonwealth of Virginia. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City <br />of Portsmouth, Virginia, that the City Manaqer be, and he hereby <br />i~,authorized' ' to convey the following described property to <br />Portsmouth Redevelopment and Housing Authority, to-wit: <br /> <br /> BEGINNING at a point on the north side of <br />High Street 90' easterly along said north side <br />of High Street from the northeast intersection <br />of High Street and Dinwiddie Street; thence a- <br />long the north side of High Street eastwardly <br />45'; thence northwardly and parallel with Din- <br />w'iddie Street 226', more or less, to the south <br />side of Queen Street; thence westwardly along <br />the south side of Queen Street 70' to a point <br />65' eastwardly from the southeastern corner of <br />Queen Street and Dinwiddie Street; thence south- <br />wardly and parallel with Dinwiddie Street 38' 6"; <br />thence eastwardly and parallel with Queen Street <br />25'; thence southwardly and parallel with Din- <br />widdie Street 187' 6" to the Point of Beginning; <br />together with any and all furniture, fixtures, <br />machinery, equipment, inventory and supplies <br />located on said property. <br /> <br /> Adopted by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, <br />at a meeting held November 22, 1983. <br /> <br />Teste: <br /> <br />City Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
