113 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO RELEASE CERTAIN UTILITY EASEMENTS (GA~RRETT ~TREET, GILLIS ROAD, JA~4ESON STREET, KEAY STREET, OLD STREET, REDGATE DRIVE AND SHILOH PLACE). WHEREAS, by ordinance adopted October 9, 1979, certain streets within the former Williams Court development were closed and discontinued as public streets; and WHEREAS, by said. ordinance, the City of Portsmouth retained easements and rights-of-way for the purpose of..installing, maintaining, operating and replacing public utilities over, un~er and across said'streets; and WEEREAS~ the operation of said utilities has been dis- continued and the easem~ents and right~-of-way are no longer required by the City of Portsmouth. NOW, ~EREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED.by the Council of the City of Portsmou~, Virginia that the City Manager be, and he hereby is, authorized to execute a deed releasing the easements and rights-of-way of the City of Portsmouth for the purpose of installing~ maintaining, operating and replacing public utilities within, over~ under and across the hereinafter-named streets: PARCEL 1 - GARRETT STREET Ail that certain portion of Garrett Street ex- tending from its intersection with the Northwestern right-of-way of George Washington Highway to its terminus at the intersection with Redgate Drive. PARCEL 2 - GILLIS ROAD Ail that certain portion of Gillis Road ex- tending from its intersection with the Northwestern right-of-way of George Washington Highway to its terminus at the intersection w~th Jameson Street. PARCEL 3 - JA~¢ESON STREET Ail that portion of Jameson Street in its entirety. PARCEL 4 KEAY STREET Ail that certain portion of Keay Street in its entirety.
