10 A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE PROPOSAL OF J. OVID KEENE TO PURCHASE CERTAIN CITY-O~ED PROPERTY (OLD WINCHESTER DRIVE FIRE STATION): AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO CON-~EY SUBJECT TO SUCH CONDITIONS REGARDING USE AND DEVELOPMENT OF THE PROPERTY AS FRY BE DEEMED APPROPRIATE. ~:HEREAS, pursuant to an advertised notice of sale of the hereinafter-described property known as the Old Winchester Drive Fire S~atlon, bids for purchase and development of said property were received on December 12, 1982; and WHEP~V~AS, the highest bid received' was the proP0~aI ' of J. Ovid Keene to purchase the subject property and the improvements thereon for the sum of $46,350.00 and to re- move tbs present structures and redevelop the property for business and copmp, ercial use; and Wn~RFuAS, it is the opinion of City Council that sale of the property for such use would be in the best interest of the City. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of POrtsmouth~ Virginia, that the proposal of J. Ovid Keene to purchase the hereinafter-described property for the sum of $46,350.00; to remove the existing strueture; and to redevelop the property for commercial and business use, be and the same hereby is, accepted. ~qe property to be conveyed is described as follows: Ail that certain piece or parcel of land, situate, lying and being in the City of Ports- mouth, Virginia, with the buildings and improve- ments thereon, known, numbered and designated as- Lots 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6, Block 10, revised plat of Blocks 3, 5, 8 Park, recorded in Court of the City Book 21, Page 2.
