A RESOLUTION GRA~NTING APPROVAL FOR A GROUP HOUSING PROJECT <br />PURSUANT TO ~40-55 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF PORTSMOUTH, <br />VIRGINIA, 1973, SAID PROJECT CONSISTING OF 24 TOWNHOUSE- <br />STYLED CONDOMINIUMS ON THE WEST SIDE OF GREEN STREET BETWEEN <br />NORTH STREET AND FIREHOUSE LANE AND DESIGNATED AS GHP-84-23. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, J. Michael Sasser has made application pursuant <br />to §40-55 of the Code of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, 1973, <br />for the granting and approval of a group housing project con- <br />sisting of twenty-four (24) townhouse-styled condominiums on a <br />.85 acre parcel located on the west side of Green Street between <br />North Street and Firehouse Lane; and <br /> <br /> ~EREAS, the application has been determined by the Planning <br />Commission to have met the requirements of ~40-55 of the Code of <br />the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, 1973; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has reviewed such appli- <br />cation and site plan submltted therewith and has recommended <br />conditional approval of said application; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the developer has been informed that approval of <br />a group housing project pursuant to ~40-55 grants only an exemption <br />from certain requirements for residences as stated in said section <br />and does not constitute a waiver of any other requirement embodied <br />in the Subdivision Ordinance, Zoning Ordinance, Code of the City <br />of Portsmouth, Virginia, or any other applicable local, state or <br />federal law or regulation; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the developer is aware that building permits or <br />any other required permit will be issued only upon compliance <br />with the ordinances, laws or regulations applicable thereto. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by ~the Council of the City <br />of Portsmouth, Virginia, that the certain group housing project <br />consisting of twenty-four (24) townhouse-styled condomzni~s to <br />be constructed on a .85 acre parcel on the west side of Green <br />Street between North Street and Firehouse Lane, and designated <br />as GHP-84-23, and more specifically described in correspondence <br />from J. Michael Sasser, President, J. M. Sasser Co., Inc., dated <br />October 9, 1984 and shown on plans filed with the appropriate <br />officials of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, such being made <br />a part hereof, is hereby granted approval subject to the following <br />terms and conditions: <br /> <br /> 1. Final building elevations and landscaping provisions shall <br />meet with the approval of the Downtown D-1 Design Con~uittee~ <br /> <br /> <br />
