23 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO CONTRACT WITH <br />THE VIRGINIA DEPARTMENT OF HIGHWAYS AND TRANSPORTATION FOR <br />ENGINEERING AND CONSTRUCTION OF AN ACCESS ROAD TO CITY PARK. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Portsmouth has <br />authorized certain engineering and design work to be done <br />for the development of City Park; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Virginia Department of Highways and Trans- <br />portation has allocated Two Hundred Thousand Dollars ($200,000) <br />from the Recreational Access Fund to provide for engineering <br />and construction of an access road to City Park; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Portsmouth desires <br />to make application for payment of said funds in connection <br />with the redesign of City Park. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the <br />City of Portsmouth, Virginia, that the City Manager be, and <br />he hereby is, authorized to enter into a contract with the <br />Virginia Department of Highways and Transportation for the <br />purpose of making application for receiving and expending <br />a sum not to exceed Two Hundred Thousand Dollars ($200,000) <br />from the Recreational Access Fund to provide an access road <br />to City Park (Project 9999-124-104). <br /> <br /> Adopted by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, <br />at a meeting held March 12, 1985. <br /> <br />Teste% <br /> <br />City Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
