49¸ <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE BID OF THOMAS D. WOODWARD, <br />JR. TO PURCHASE CITY-OWNED PROPERTY AT 4805 WEST NORFOLK <br />ROAD; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO CONVEY. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City own~ certain real property <br />located at 4805 West Norfolk Road, which property is no <br />longer required for public purposes and is, hereby, <br />declared to be excess property; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to the Charter of the City <br />of Portsmouth said property has been advertised for sale <br />and bids received; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Thomas D. Woodward, Jr. has bid the <br />sum of Fifty Five Thousand Dollars ($55,000) for the <br />purchase of said property; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Portsmouth <br />deems it to be in the best interest of the City to <br />accept the bid of Thomas D. Woodward, Jr. and sell the <br />hereinafter-described property. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council <br />of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, that the bid of <br />Thomas D. Woodward, Jr. to purchase City-owned property <br />at 4805 West Norfolk Road for the sum of Fifty Five <br />Thousand Dollars ($55,000) be, and the same hereby is, <br />accepted. <br /> <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Manager <br />be, and he hereby is, authorized to convey to Thomas D. <br />Woodward, Jr. the following described property, to-wit: <br /> <br /> Ail those certain lots, pieces <br />or parcels of land, with the improve- <br />ments thereon, situate, lying and being <br />in the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, <br />known, numbered, and designated as Lots <br />108 and 109 on that certain plat entitled <br />"Replat of sLots 48 through 147, Inclusive, <br />155 through 162, Inclusive, 213 through <br />218, Inclusive, Subdivision of Section <br />2, Castle Heights", recorded in the Clerk's <br />office of the Circuit Court of the City <br />of Chesapeake, Virginia, in Map Book 41, <br />page 85; save and accept therefrom all <br />those certain parcels designated as <br />parcels 034 and 036 as shown on that <br /> <br /> <br />
