6 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO SIGN A DEED OF <br />RELEASE FORCERTAIN EAS~4ENTS IN CONNECTION~WITH THE CONVEYANCE <br />OF MUNICIPAL BUILDING PROPERTY. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, by plat entitled "Plat of Property Belonging <br />to City of Portsmouth for Waterfront Deveto_~ment", dated <br />January 20, 1977, recorded in the Clerk's Office of the Circuit <br />Court of the City of Portsmouth in Map Book 10, page 6, certain <br />hereinafter-described easements and rights-of-way were dedicated <br />for the purpose of constructing public utilities and improve- <br />ments; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the proposed plan for development of the old <br />municipal building (former Seaboard Coast Line Building) requires <br />that the hereinafter-described easements and rights-of-way be <br />released in order to facilitate construction and development; <br />and <br /> <br /> WH. EREAS, the said easements and rights-of-way are no longer <br />required by the City for public utility purposes and are hereby <br />declared to be excess property. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City <br />of Portsmouth, Virginia, that the City Manager be, and he hereby <br />is, authorized to sign a deed of release for certain hereinafter- <br />described easements in connection with the conveyance of the <br />municipal building property, to-w±t: <br /> <br />PARCEL 1 <br /> <br /> Ail that certain 15' dra±nage easement as shown <br />on that certain plat entitled "Plat Of Property Be- <br />longing To City Of Portsmouth For Waterfront Develop- <br />ment'', recorded in the Clerk's Office of the Circuit <br />Court of the City of Portsmouth in Map Book 10, page <br />6; said easement being described as ly±ng along the <br />eastern boundary of the property depicted on said plat <br />beginning at a point south of the southern right-of- <br />way line of High Street if the same were extended from <br />~ts intersection with Water Street eastwardly to the <br />southern branch of the Elizabeth Ri~er and extending <br />in a southerly direction between parallel lines 15' <br />apart to ~ point south of the southern right-of-way <br />line of King Street if the same were extended in an <br />eastwardly direction from its intersection with Water <br />Street to the southern branch of the Elizabeth River. <br /> <br /> <br />
