(J) (k) Any sworn Officer of the Police Department assigned to the K-9 Corps, shall receive an allowance of $50.00 per month as designated by the Chief of Police and approved in advance by the City Manager. Any sworn Officer of the Police Department in the grade of Police Officer who serves 'in an off duty capacity as an escort for funerals~ shall be paid at the rate of $22.50 for each funeral. Any Police Officer assigned to perform in an off duty status, the coordination of funeral escorts, shall be paid $9.00 for each full hour devoted to such duties. SECTION 12. Complements of Fire Department and Police Department (a) The authorized complement of the Fire Department shall be one Chief, one Deputy Chief for Operations, eight Battalion Chiefs, thirty-six Captains, thirty-five Lieutenants, and one hundred thirty-four Firefighters. (b) The authorized complement of the Police Department shall be one Chief, two Assistant Chiefs, one Field Operations Commander, eight Captains, twelve Lieuten- ants, twenty-seven Sergeants, and one hundred fifty- three Police Officers. SECTION 13. Salaries for Unclassified Positions (a) The annual salary rates of the following unclassified positions shall be the amounts stated herein: 711185- 6/30/86 (1) City Manager $ (2) City Attorney (3) City Assessor (4) City Clerk (5) Clerk of Circuit Court 61,172' (6) Mayor 12,O00 (7) Council Member 10,000 (b) Part-time employees, whose positions are not classified shall receive compensation as prescribed by the Depart- ment Head and the Director of Personnel. SECTION 14. Adjustments of Retirement Allowances The adjustments of retirement allowances as prescribed in Section 31-68 and 31-155 of the Code of the City of Portsmouth shall be increased by 3.63%. -7-
