AN ORDINANCE CLOSING A PORTION OF LITTLE JOHN ROAD. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Portsmouth Redevelopment & Housing <br />Authority has made application to vacate, close, and <br />discontinue the hereinafter-described portion of Little <br />John Road; and <br /> WHEREAS, by resolution adopted by this Council June <br />11, 1985, viewers were appointed pursuant to ~15.1-364, <br />Code of Virginia, 1950, as amended, to view the <br />hereinafter-described portion of said street and to <br />report in writing whether in their opinion any, and if <br />any, what inconvenience would result from discontinuing <br />said street; and <br /> WHEREAS, the said viewers have reported in writing <br /> that in their opinion no inconvenience would result from <br /> the closing and discontinuing of said street. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of <br /> the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, that the <br /> hereinafter-described portion of Little John Road be <br /> closed and vacated as a public street. <br /> <br />Little John Road <br /> <br /> Ail that certain piece or parcel of <br />land, situate, lying and being in the City <br />of Portsmouth, Virginia, being a portion of <br />~ittle Jo~n Road, b~e'in~ mor~ parfcicularly <br />described as follows: <br /> <br /> Beginning at a point-on the easterly <br />side Of Ponderosa Street, 230.37' in a <br />northwesterly direction from the north- <br />east intersection of Ponderosa Street and <br />Elmhurst Lane; thence running north 44°57' <br />west along Ponderosa Street 51.11' to a <br />pen; thence turning and running north 57o0' <br />east along the property now or formerly owned <br />by Portsmouth Redevelopment & Housing Authority, <br />a distance of 199.78'; thence turning and <br />running south 44°57' east along the pro- <br />perty now or formerly belonging to Lincoln <br />Pre-Cast Company, Inc., a distance of <br />51.11' to a pen; thence turning and running <br />south 57°0' west along the property now or <br />formerly belonging to Marvin L. Spring, a <br />distance of 199.78' to the Point of Beginning. <br /> <br /> <br />
