AN ORDINANCE CLOSING A PORTION OF COLUMBIA STREET. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Robert Ewell and Nell Ewell have.made <br />application to vacate, close and discontinue the <br />hereinafter described portion of Columbia Street; and <br /> WHEREAS, by resolution of this Council adopted April <br />9, 1985, viewers were appointed pursuant to Section <br />15.1-364, Code of Virginia, 1950, as amended, to view the <br />hereinafter portion of said street and to report in writing <br />whether in their opinion any,'and if any what, <br />inconvenience would result from discontinuing said street; <br />and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, said viewers have reported that no <br />inconvenience would result from the closing and <br />discontinuing of said street. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED b~ the Council of the <br /> City of Portsmouth, Virginia, that the hereinafter <br /> described portion of Columbia Street be closed and vacated <br /> as a public street. <br /> <br />Columbia Street <br /> <br /> Ail that certain piece or parcel located <br /> in the City-of Portsmouth, Virginia, <br /> described as Columbia Street having as its <br /> western boundary Meander Road; its northern <br /> boundary Jamestown Avenue, and its southern <br /> bpundary parcel 86. (S-85-5) <br /> <br /> BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED That the City of Portsmouth <br />reserves unto itself a perpetual easement, right-of-way and <br />privilege to install, operate, maintain and replace sewer <br />mains, sewer drains, sanitary sewers, storm sewers and <br />water mains over, under and across the hereinabove <br />described property. <br /> <br /> Adopted by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, <br />Virginiar at a meeting held May 28, 1985. <br /> <br />Teste: <br /> <br />City Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
