58 <br /> <br />A P~ESOLUTION RECOGNIZING MRS. ~RLENE <br />AND THE PORTSMOUTH JUNIOR AMBASSADORS. <br /> <br />RANDALL, <br /> <br />COORDINATOR, <br /> <br /> ~EREAS, Mrs. Marlene Randall served as a me_mber of <br />the 1983 and 1984 Seawall Festival Committee; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, her primary role as a member of that committee <br />was to establish a Portsmouth Junior Ambassador Program; <br />and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, she selected outstanding students from <br />Portsmouth High Schools to participate and serve as infor- <br />mation specialists during the course of the three-day long <br />festival; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, under Mrs. Randall's direction, 140 students <br />were properly trained and lectured on the importance of <br />their role with regard to presenting the proper image of <br />our City through good public relations; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, students from Churchland, Manor, Wilson, <br />Cradock, Norcom, and Portsmouth Catholic were represented; <br />and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, these outstanding students were very cour- <br />teous, congenial, effective, and efficient and contributed <br />greatly to the success of the Portsmouth Seawall Festival. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of <br />the City of Portsmouth hereby recognizes and congratulates <br />the Portsmouth Junior Aiabassadors and expresses its admira- <br />tion, appreciation, and esteem to Mrs. Marlene Randall and <br />the students for their contribution to the City of Portsmouth. <br /> <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution <br />be spread upon the minutes of the Council and a copy be <br />presented to Mrs. Randall and to each school represented <br />in recognition of their service to this community. <br /> <br /> Adopted. by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, <br />Virginia at a meeting held June 26,71984. <br /> <br />Teste: <br /> <br />City Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
