20 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION AUTEORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO CONVEY PROPERTY <br />TO PORTSMOUTH REDEVELOPMENT AND HOUSING AUTHORITY (723 COUNT~ <br />STREET) Y <br /> <br /> W~EREAS, theCit~of Portsmouth owns certain hereinafter- <br />described real property designated as 723 County Street and <br />said property is no longer necessary for the uses and purposes <br />of the City and is, hereby, declared to be surplus property; <br />and <br /> <br /> ~EREAS, said property is.located within the Crawford <br />Urban Renewal Project; and the Portsmouth Redevelopment and <br />~ousing Authority has offered to purchase said property to <br />be combined with other property for future disposition in <br />connection with the redevelopment effort; and <br /> <br /> WHEREASf Portsmouth Redevelopment and Housing Authority <br />has agreed to pay the appraised value of two thousand, ~hree <br />hundred ten dollars C$2,310.00) for said property; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, POrtsmouth Redevelopment and Housing Authority <br />is a political subdivision of the Commonwealth of Virginia <br />and ~2.09 (cl of the Charter of the City of Portsmouth <br />provides that real property may be conveyed to the Commonwealth <br />of Virginia or a political subdivision thereof without <br />advertisement and receipt of bids; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the sale of said property ~o Portsmouth Redevelopment <br />and Housing Authority for disposition in connection with the <br />Crawford Urban Renewal Project is deemed to be in the best <br />interest of the City. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City <br />of Portsmouth, Virginia, that the City Manager be, and he <br />hereby is, authorized to convey to ~ortsmou~h Redevelopment <br />and ~ousing Authority the hereinaft~r-descrlbed property: <br /> <br /> Ail that certain lot, piece or parcel of land, <br />with the improvements thereon, situate, lying and <br />being in the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, known as <br />723 County Street, being more-particularly bounded <br />and described as follows: <br /> <br /> <br />
