(c) Any member who terminates service as an employee prior to retirement and who comptieswithone of the require- ments set forth in (1), (2), (3), or (4) below;, and who has attained the age of sixty (60), may retire at any time then or thereafter under the provisions of subsection (a) of this section: provided further, however, that no such member shall be entitled to the benefits of this paragraph (c) if his supervisor certifies that his service was terminated because of dishonesty, malfeasance, or misfeasance in office; such certifi- cation may be appealed to the board, and its decision shall be final. (t) The member terminated prior to July 1, 1973, but after the attainmen~ of age fifty (50) and the completion of twenty (20) years of creditable service, or (2) The member terminated after June 30, 1973, and after the completion of ten (10) years of creditable service, or (3) Membership began before July 1, 1977 and the mem- ber terminated after June 30~ 1974 and after the complegion of five (5) years of creditable service, or (4) Membership began after June 30, 1977, and termination occurred af~ter qbe compte~ion of ten (10) years of creditable service. Section 31-263. Service retirement allowance. (a) Upon the retirement, as provided in subsection (a) or subsection (b) of SectiQn 31-2f2, on or after July t, 1977, of a memb~er~wh0 either has attained his normal retirement date or has both attained age sixty [60) and completed twenty-five (25) years of creditable service, the member shall receive an annual retirement allowance, payable at least monthly to him during his life time, the amount of which shall be determined as follows: (1) With respect to an~ allowance payment falling due in a month before the member~s normal retirement date, or in a month before the member's no~rmal retirement date and before any social security payment falling due that is based on the member's primary social security benefit, two (2) per cent oi his average final compensation multiplied by the number of years of creditable service. (2) With respect to any allowance payment falling due after %he member's normal retirement date, or in a month be- fore the member's normal retirement date and after any social security allowance payment falling due that is based on the member's primary social security benefit, the larger of (i) one and fifteen one hundredths (1.15) per cent of his average final compensation multiplied by the number of years of his creditable service; or {ii) the excess of (x) two 18
