department and a member who is an employee of %he fire <br />department. Members who are employees of the department from <br />which the appointment shall be made may propose names of employees <br />for consideration of Council. The Council may suspend or <br />remove any m~mber of the board at its pleasure. Members of <br />the board who are not employees or otherwise in the employ of <br />the City shall receive as his compensation ten dollars ($10.00) <br />per day for each day or part thereof actually spent in the <br />discharge of his duties; members who are in the employ of the <br />City shall receive as his compensation ten dollars ($10.00) for <br />each day or part thereof actually spent in the discharge of <br />his duties if such day or part thereof is not otherwise a <br />part of the regular working hours of the employee. No member <br />shall receive as compensation in the aggregate more than one <br />hundred twenty dollars ~$t20.00) in any one year. Members <br />shall be reimbursed for the expenses incurred by them in <br />the performance of their duties. <br /> <br />Section 31-215. Quorum. <br /> <br /> A majority of the members of the board shall constitute a <br />quorum. <br /> <br />Section 31-216. Chairman; ~ice-chairman; secretary. <br /> <br /> The City Council shall, from time to time, designate the <br />chairman of the board. The board shall elect one of its mem- <br />bers vice-chairman and shall appoint a secretary who may or <br />may no~ be a member of the board. <br /> <br />Section 31-217.
