1984-84 AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND THE CODE OF THE CITY O? PORTS~OUTH, VIRGINIAt 1973, BY ADDING TO CHAPTER 2 THEREOF, ARTICLE XXI, ESTABLISHING THE ENTERPRISE ZONE ADVISORY COMMITTEE. 'That the Code ~of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, 1973, 'be amended by adding to Chapter 2 thereof, Article XXt, new A~ticle to r?~ad as follows: · rise Zone Adv~ .shed an Advisory Committee to be known as the Enterprise Zone Advisory Committee of the City of Ports- mouth, Virginia. Section 2-38 n; ppomntment and terms of members. ~ ~ The Comm.ission shall consist 'o~ eleven (1!) members, all 6f whom shall be residents of the City. The 'members of the Cormuit%ee shall be appointed by the Council for terms of three (3) years; provided, however, that of those first appointed, ~four (41 shall be appointed for one (1) year, four (~) for two (2) years, and three (.3) for three (3) years. The members shall hold office during their respective terms until their successors are appointed. Section 2-382 . Vacancies. ~ Alt V~cancies on the Cormmittee shall be filled by the City Council forthe unexpmre~' ~ portion of any term. Any member of the Committee may be removed by the City Council at any time if it finds that the best interest of the Committee would be action. 2-3~3. Election of officers; adoption of rules and 't~ee lly ~ The Commm shallannua elect a Chairman and Vice ckairman from among its members. The Committee shall adopt such rules, regulations and by-laws as it shall deem necessary for the proper and efficient conduct of its business.
