AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND THE CODE OF THE CITY OF PORTSMOUTH, <br />VIRGINIA, 1973, B~ AMENDING DIVISION 4 OF ARTICLE VII, <br />CHAPTER 2 THEREOF, PERTAINING TO THE DEPARTMENT OF PLANNING. <br /> <br /> BE IT ORDAINED by <br />Virginia, that Division 4 of Article VII, Chapter 2 of the <br />Code of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, 1973, be amended <br />to read as follows: <br /> <br /> ARTICLE VII. Department of Planning, <br /> Engineering and Inspections <br /> <br />the Council of the City of Portsmouth~ <br /> <br />DIVISION 4. Department'of Planning <br /> <br />Section 2-148. Established; composition. <br /> <br /> There is hereby established a department of City government <br />known and designated as the Department of Planning consisting of <br />the City Planner and such other employees as may be provided by <br />ordinance or by orders of the City Manager consistent.~therewith. <br /> <br />Section 2-149. City Planner - appointment. <br /> <br />The City Planner shall be. appointed by the City Manager. <br /> <br />Section 2-150. Same - powers and duties. <br /> <br /> The City Planner shall serve as the Director of Planning <br />and assist the Planning Commission in the performance of its <br />duties and shall have such other powers and duties as may be <br />assigned by the City Manager. <br /> <br /> Adopted by the Council of the City of Portsmouth~ Virginia <br />at a meeting held June 26, 1984. <br /> <br />Teste: <br /> <br />City Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
