SECTION 12. Complements of Fire Department and Police <br /> Department <br /> <br />The authorized complement of the Fire Department shall <br />be one Chief, one Deputy Chief for Operations, eight <br />Battalion Chiefs, thirty-six Captains, thirty-five <br />Lieutenants, and one hundred forty Firefighters. <br /> <br />The authorized compelment of the Police Department shall <br />be one Chief, two Assistant Chiefs, one Field Operations <br />Commander, seven Captains, fifteen Lieutenants, twenty- <br />five Sergeants, and one hundred fifty-five Police Officers. <br /> <br />SECTION 13. Salaries for Unclassified Positions <br /> <br />(a) The annual salary rates of the following unclassified <br /> positions shall be the amounts stated herein: <br /> <br />7/1/86- <br />6/30/87 <br /> <br />(1) City Manager $81,948 <br />(2) City Attorney 70,121 <br />(3) City Assessor 43,563 <br />(4) City Clerk 30,267 <br />(5) Clerk of Circuit 65,197 <br />(6) Mayor 15,000 <br />(7) Council Member 13,000 <br /> <br />(b) <br /> <br />Part-time employees, whose positions are not classified <br />shall receive compensation as prescribed by the Depart- <br />ment Head and the Director of Personnel. <br /> <br />SECTION 14. Adjustments of Retirement Allowances <br /> <br />The adjustments of retirement allowances <br />Section 31-68 and 31-155 of the Code of <br />Portsmouth shall be increased by 3.29%. <br /> <br />as prescribed in <br />the City of <br /> <br />SECTION t5. Repeal of Conflicting Ordinance <br /> <br />Ordinance No. 1985-43 is hereby repealed e~fective June 30, 1986. <br />SECTION 16. Effective Date of Ordinance <br /> <br />(a) This ordinance shall take effect July 1, 1986. <br /> <br />(b) Adopted by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia <br /> aX a meeting held May 13, 1986. <br /> <br />-7- <br /> <br /> <br />
