AN ORDINANCE CLOSING A PORTION OF SECOND STREET. WHEREAS, P. H. Boyette Jr. and Company, Incorporated has made application to vacate, close and discontinue the hereinafter described portion of Second Street; and WHEREAS, by resolution of this Council adopted January 28, 1986, v~ewers were appointed pursuant to Section 15.1-364, Code of Virginia, 1950, as amended, to view the hereinafter described portion of said street and to report in writing whether in their opinion any, and if any what, inconvenience would result from discontinuing said street; and WHEREAS, the said viewers have reported in writing that in their opinion no inconvenience would result from the closing and discontinuing of said street. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, that the hereinafter described port~on of Second Street be closed and vacated as a publi~ street. SECOND STREET Ail that certain piece or parcel of land, situate in the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, being that portion of Second Street shown on the plat of "Churchland Land Company", duly recorded in the Clerks Office of the Circuit Court of the City of Chesapeake, Virginia, in Map book 18, page 85~ which lies between the eastern side of Academy Avenue and the northwestern Line of the r~ght-of-way of ~the Norfolk and Western Raiiroad~ forme~'!y Norfolk, Franklin and Danville Railway, which was designated as Southern Railway on said plat, said parcel being bounded on the west by the eastern line of Academy Avenue, on the south by the northern line of block 20 on said plat of the "Churchland Land Company", on the north by the southern line of block 21 on said plat, and on the east by said railroad right-of-way. Said ~roperty is shown on Portsmouth City Tax Map 818 and is bounded on the north by parcels 8,10,12 and 15 and on the south by parcels 14, and 20 on said tax map.
