1986-24 <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND CHAPTER 23 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF <br />PORTSMOUTH, 1973, AS AMENDED, BY AMENDING SECTIONS 23-66 <br />(b) (12) AND 23-305 PERTAINING TO MOTOR VEHICLES. <br /> <br /> BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of <br />Portsmouth, Virginia: <br /> <br /> 1o That Sections 23-66 (b) (12) and 23-305 of <br />Chapter 23 of the Code of the City of Portsmouth, 1973, as <br />amended, be amended to read as follows: <br /> <br />Section 23-66. Reckless driving. <br /> <br /> (b) (12) Drive or operate any automobile or other <br />motor vehicle upon any driveway or premises of a church, <br />school, or of any recreational facilities or of any <br />business property open to the public, or on the premises <br />an industrial establishment providing parking space for <br />customers, patrons or employees, or upon any street or <br />highway under construction or not yet open to <br />recklessly or at a speed or in a manner so as <br />the life, limb or property of any person. <br /> <br />or <br /> <br />the public, <br />to endanger <br /> <br />Section 23-305. Penalty for violating preceding section. <br /> <br /> Any person convicted of violating the preceding <br />section shall be punished as provided in ~1-9; provided, <br />however, that if the vehicle or other property struck is <br />unattended and the damage thereto is less than fifty <br />dollars ($50.00), such person shall be punished only by a <br />fine not exceeding fifty dollars ($50.00). <br /> <br /> 2.
