1986 115 <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE CLOSING A PORTION OF THE FOLLOWING STREETS: <br />SUMMIT AVENUE, CENTRE AVENUE, WILCOX AVENUE, DEWEY STREET, <br />CEDAR AVENUE AND OLYMPIA AVENUE, ALL WITHIN THE BOUNDARIES OF <br />THE PROPERTY KNOWN AS FREDERICK MILITARY ACADEMY. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Frederick Foundation, Inc., has made application <br />to vacate, close and discontinue the hereinafter-described <br />portions of certain streets; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, by resolution adopted by this Council on August <br />26, 1986, viewers were appointed pursuant to Section 15.1-364, <br />Code of Virginia, 1950, as amended, to view the <br />hereinafter-described portion of said streets and to report in <br />writing whether in their opinion any, and if any what, <br />inconvenience would result from discontinuing the said <br />streets; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the said viewers have reported in writing <br />in their opinion no inconvenience would result from the <br />closing and discontinuing of said street. <br /> <br />that <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City <br />of Portsmouth, Virginia, that the hereinafter-described <br />portions of said streets be closed and vacated as public <br />streets. <br /> <br />Summit Avenue <br /> <br /> From its point of intersection with Dewey <br />Avenue (as shown on the Plat of Property of <br />The Virginia Company as recorded in the <br />Clerk's Office of the Circuit Court of the <br />City of Portsmouth, Virginia, in Map Book 1, <br />Page 97) on the west, to a point 150 feet west <br />of LaNsing Avenue on the east. <br /> <br />Center Avenue <br /> <br /> From its point of intersection with Dewey <br />Avenue, as shown on that plat as above <br />described, on the west, to a point 125 feet <br />west of Lansing Avenue, on the east. <br /> <br />Wilcox Avenue <br /> <br /> From its point of intersection with Dewey <br />Avenue, as shown on the plat above described, <br />on the west, to its terminus on the east as <br />shown on the Plat of I.O. Ivey, which plat is <br />duly recorded in the Clerk's Office aforesaid <br />in Map Book 1, Page 96, said point also being <br /> <br /> <br />
