AN ORDINANCE CLOSING A PORTION OF ELLIOTT AVENUE. WHEREAS, C. Raeford Eure, Jean M. Davis and the City of Portsmouth have made application to vacate, close and discontinue the hereinafter described portions of Elliott Avenue; and WHEREAS, by resolution adopted by the Council of the City of Portsmouth on April 22, 1986, viewers were appointed pursuant to ~15.1-364, Code of Virginia, 1950, as amended, to be the hereinafter described portions of said street and to report in writing whether ~n their opinion any, and if any what, any lncovenience would result from discontinuIng said portions of Elliott Avenue; and .... co~.~.._~ ..... WHEREAS, the said viewers have reported in writing that in their opinion no inconvenience would result from the closing and discontinuing of said street. NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, that the hereinafter described portions of Elliott Avenue be closed and vacated as public streets. Elliott Avenue Ail those certain two (2) strips of land, being the northern and the southern 10 feet of the 100 foot right-of-way of Elliott Avenue, as said roadway is bounded on the East by Frederick Boulevard, and on the West by Deep Creek Boulevard. It being intended that Elliott Avenue shall retain as a dedicated public street a right-of-way of 80 feet in width as said street runs between Frederick Boulevard on the East and Deep Creek Boulevard on the West. -BE IT FURTHER ordained that pursuant to the provisions of ~15.1-366, Code of Virginia, 1950, as amended, the City Manager be, and hereby is, authorized to convey any right title and interest of the City in and to the hereinabove described portions of said street to the following named or abutting property owners for the agreed value:
