prevention of severe economic hardship or the substantial <br />loss of employment. <br /> <br /> 4. That upon a determination by the City Manager <br />the existence of following conditions, the City Manager <br />shall take the following actions: <br /> <br />of <br /> <br /> (a) Condition 1: When moderate but limited supplies <br />of water are available, the City Manaqer shall, through <br />appropriate means, call upon the general population to <br />employ prudent restraint in water usage, and to conserve <br />water voluntarily by whatever methods available. <br /> <br /> (b) Condition 2: When very limited supplies of water <br />are available, the City Manager'shall order curtailment ~f <br />less essential usage of water, including, but not limited <br />to, one or more of the following: <br /> <br /> (1) The watering of shrubbery, trees, lawns, <br />grass, plants, or any other vegetation, except indoor <br />by commercial nurseries of freshly planted plants upon <br />planting and once a week for five weeks following planting. <br /> <br /> (2) The washing of automobiles, trucks, trailers, <br />boats, airplanes, or any other type of mobile equipment, <br />excepting in facilities operating with a water recycling <br />system approved by the Director of the Department of Public <br />Utilities; Drovided, however, that any facility operating <br />with a wa~er recycling .system shall permanently display in <br /> <br />public view a notice approved by the Director of Public <br />utilities sta%ing that such recycling system isrin <br />operation. In lieu of the provisions hereof, the City <br />Manager may curtail the hours of operation of commercial <br />enterprises offering such services or washing their own <br />equipment. <br /> <br /> (3) The washing of streets, driveways, parking <br />lots, service stations aprons, office buildings, exteriors <br />of homes or apartments, or other outdoor surfaces. <br /> <br /> (4) The operacion of any ornamental fountain or <br />other structure making a similar use of water. <br /> <br />or the <br />drained <br />order. <br /> <br /> (5) The filling o~ swimming and/or wading pools, <br />~efilling of swimming and/or wading pools which were <br /> after the effective date of the City Manager's <br /> <br /> (6) <br />purpose Other <br />emergency. <br /> <br />The use of water from fire hydrants for any <br />~han fire suppression or other public <br /> <br /> <br />
